Membership and Events Committee
Committee Description:
Planning and Events maintains responsibility for all logistics related to all council sponsored events and meetings. Committee Members:

Committee Goals:
Objective 1: Work on increasing staff involvement and presence at monthly meetings, events, and candidacy statements for elections.
- Reach out to new employees with letter and magnet, i.e. seven points of contact
- Hold an annual event to check in with new employees
- Encourage more “bring a friend to council” meetings
- Propose guest speakers and discussion topics for monthly meeting ideas that are beneficial to staff
- Work on having a special event for just for staff-at-large and become more involved in university-wide events such as the university picnic
Objective 2: Market and reach out to staff in areas/departments where Staff Council members are not represented.
- Identify these areas
- Personally invite staff in these areas/departments to attend monthly meetings
- Have recruitment lunches with staff in these areas
- Work with Communication Committee to advertise events and implement marketing plan
Objective 3: Work with all committees on planning and coordinating the logistics of all Staff Council sponsored events.
Objective 4: Encourage Staff Council members to attend more university meetings and events as representatives of Council to promote Staff Council awareness.
