Re-Election Personal Statement (2008):
Hello my name is David Valadez and I am running to continue as one of your representatives for Staff Council. I have been at DePaul since 1998 as a student, student worker, and then as a full-time staff member after I graduated in 2003. I worked in the Controller’s office as a student, and then full time, until 2005 when I moved over to the Academic side of the house, where I was the interim budget manager for CTI. Currently I am a Senior Financial Analyst in Academic Fiscal Administration. I am just completing my first term as a representative where I have been a very active member. I was the chair of the Budget Advisory Committee my first year, and am currently the chair of the Effectiveness committee. I have been working these past two years to continue to keep Staff Council as an integral part of our community process, and to continue to increase the visibility throughout DePaul. I think we have started to make good strives in areas such as professional advancement and outreach, however need to continue working on these issues as we continue to impress the value of building knowledgeable and diverse staff that can continue to focus on our mission of DePaul that we all value and want to continue working on while being able to continue our development.
