Re-election Personal Statement (2006):
I have been a member of the DePaul community since 1986. I worked full-time in the College of LA&S from 1990-1999 and returned to the university in 2000. I have served on Staff Council for the last two years, and have chaired the Council’s Communication Committee since June 2005. My reason for running for Staff Council remains the same as it did two years ago. Staff involvement in university governance is crucial and Staff Council needs to continue to be an advocate for staff and staff issues. The Council has done much in recent years, but there is much that still needs to be done including increasing staff involvement on university-wide committees, addressing staff work-place issues, and building a Vincentian workplace community. As a Council member I will continue to be involved and committed spokesperson for full and part-time staff at DePaul, while continuing to work to increase the communication between the Council and staff.
