PPO Limit on Baby Well Visits |
||
August 2007 issue Hello, Why is there a maximum limit on baby well visits of $700 dollars for the first two years? (for the PPO) It would make sense that a higher limit be set so as to encourage these type of visits and provide for a greater health well being on the child. Routine immunizations will cost our family over $2000. It seems we are penalized for selecting a health plan that provides the greatest amount of flexibility and care for our dependants. Response Source: Gary Miller Response: This concern has been raised by the University Benefits and Compensation Committee and also surfaced in the employee benefits survey conducted last year. In response to these concerns and as part of a new effort to promote wellness, the university is removing the dollar limit for the PPO preventive care benefit as of 1/1/08. The next Newsline will have an article regarding this change. The Consumer Driven Health Plan, HMO Illinois, and the CIGNA EPO currently have no dollar maximums on preventive care benefits.
