Update on Baby Well Visits

November 2007 issue

I was so happy to see that there will be no limits on baby well visits in 2008. Has benefits and comp discussed any ways to provide assistance for employees currently in the PPO (this year) who have large bills? I have another round of immunizations for my baby coming up at the end of the year and I am unsure on other options to avoid another $1000 out of pocket. Thanks!

Response: Unfortunately, the new benefit levels will not be in effect until January 1, 2008. If you are incurring expenses this year, they will be subject to the 2007 limits. There is no work-around regarding covering costs above the maximum for preventive services rendered in 2007.
