Floating Holidays |
||
January 2008 issue Two questions: 1. What is this new category on my paycheck for floating holiday? Is that the 2 days that they decided to allow as vacation time from the sick days? 2. I heard that after a certain number of years, employees are granted unlimited sick time if needed. Is this true? Response Source: Gary Miller Response: Regarding Question 1: the Time & Labor System has now been changed to accommodate tracking of floating holidays. Both exempt and non-exempt staff should report the use of floating holidays in the Time & Labor System every pay period. Exempt employees should use the time code “FHE” and non-exempt employees should use the time code “FHN”." You will not need to update the T&L system with any floating holidays taken so far this year until a general announcement is released to all university staff. For more information regarding floating holidays, see the Paid Holiday Policy on the University’s Policies and Procedures website. Regarding Question 2: That is not correct. Please refer to the Sick Pay, Short and Long-Term Disability Policy on the University’s Policies and Procedures website.
