Why doesn't Facilities Ops use PeopleSoft for their work order system? The system they use is klunky and not compatible with those who use macs. The University already pays for both the software and support of PeopleSoft and it seems like all areas should be utilizing this resource.

We tried, unsuccessfully, to develop our work order program or application via Peoplesoft...with no success. To do the app in Peoplesoft would require a new and separate module that would not only be expensive to secure, but it would also have to be custom developed to a large extent in order to do what we need it to in order to succeed. The IS group agreed that our best bet to do what we need this app to do is to stick with what we purchased and developed (and recently upgraded). We also get better and faster service when it comes to fixing portions of the app if and when required through the vendor entity that we have a relationship with. The person who is having trouble with our app while using a Mac is in the minority, I assure you, and should perhaps talk to us about the prospect of resolving the issue for him or her. We would be happy to look into it.
