Dental Coverage

August 2008 issue

I am not happy with the extra coverage of benefits;allowing non-married partners to receive coverage. I would like to see our benefits improve by having less deductibles and more coverage on the existing policy rather than covering more people who traditionally are not covered. Our dental is not good why don't they increase the amount that our insurance will cover such as yearly x-rays, dental implants, and other procedures that are not covered. WOn the current medical policy there is a cap (limit) on preventative and will not cover certain tests that are fundamental toward preventative medicine.

Response: Beginning January 1, 2008, the PPO in-network preventive care expenses were covered at 100% and were not subject to deductible, co-insurance or maximums. The preventive care benefit for out-of-network providers are subject to the standard out-of-network deductible and co-insurance with no dollar maximum. The CIGNA Plans and the HMO had already provided preventative coverage at 100%. The only plan that has limited coverage is the Traditional Plan. The dental plan coverage has been reviewed and we will be providing enhanced benefits that will be communicated in the coming months. We provide all our employees with choices so they can decide what best fits their needs.
