Performance Evaluations:

July 2005 issue

There is a disconnect between the dates that departments are required to submit their annual salary planning requests and annual performance reviews that is unfair to staff. The deadline for completing and submitting performance reviews is AFTER the deadline departments have for submitting annual salary requests. It doesn't make sense to require annual salary requests be submitted prior to annual performance reviews being completed. The administration is aware of this disconnect but is not acting on it. Is there a reason why HR can't just move up the deadline date for completing annual performance reviews so that performance review information would be available to the people making annual salary decisions BEFORE they are required to make those salary decisions? Thanks.

Response

Human Resources will revisit the salary planning and performance appraisal schedules based on feedback from the last planning cycle. Our goal is to create a schedule that allows all constituents the proper timeframe to submit the required documents.
