Retirement Contributions for Employees Under Age 26: |
||
January 2007 issue This is not a "new" issue, just a followup to a previous posting. The response from human resources on this is not really a response, more a reply of, "sorry but no, too bad, you'll just have to deal until you're 26". What were the results from the September review? I have yet heard nothing on this matter. March 2006 issue I would like to set up a retirement plan, but because I am not 26 yet, I can only set up a Supplemental plan, which DePaul does not match. I do recall that this issue was brought up before, but I do not know how it was addressed. Is there a way to change this policy to include ALL full-time employees instead of only those over 26? Response Source: Human Resources Response: Information on DePaul’s retirement plan is available at https://hr.depaul.edu/html/benefits/403bretirement.asp Staff Council contacted Human Resources regarding this issue. We learned that the Benefits Review Committee is planning to review the 403(b) Retirement Plan in September 2006. For any questions relating to the 403(b) Retirement Plan, please contact 312.362.6441 or email your questions to 403bretirement@depaul.edu Response Source: Brad Price Response: The age and service requirements for University contributions to the DePaul 403(b) Retirement Plan are currently under review by the University Benefits and Compensation Committee (UBCC). The most effective way to get your viewpoint considered is to contact your staff council representatives on the UBCC and tell them that you want this issue given high priority and expect the committee to issue it's determination on these matters soon. Your Staff Council representatives on the UBCC are: * Lon Batelli Please make your concerns known to them. |
