TCF Bank: |
||
August 2005 issue A TCF bank has been opened in the LPC student center. In the past few years, TCF has been a victim of many robberies due to the fact that are typically found inside Jewel stores which some perceive lack security. I have not noticed any increased security by the bank or in the student center. What is being done to protect the DePaul community now that there is a bank inside one of our most used buildings? More specifically what is being done to protect us in the event of a robbery inside this new branch? Response From our first conversations with TCF, we've made every effort to ensure that the addition of a bank branch in the DePaul Student Center will in no way jeopardize the safety of our students, faculty, staff or visitors. This is a tremendously important concern and one we've taken very seriously. Before the branch opened, DePaul and TCF implemented a variety of new protective security procedures and mechanisms. Though it would not be appropriate to discuss the specific steps taken, I assure you that in every instance we've adopted the most-effective safety measures. Additionally, you should know that TCF has a long history of operating branch bank facilities on numerous college campuses and to date they have had no mishaps. Further, because these branches are typically much smaller than "full service" stand alone and grocery store operations they generally have a lot less cash on hand. Regarding the second part of your question, with the exception of the manager and assistant manager all employees are also students at DePaul and have passed all of TCF's pre-employment screenings and have also successfully completed their training programs.
